Privacy Policy — Elisa Blake

Elisa Blake ("the App", "we", "us") is an AI companion chat application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information We Collect

• Account data: a unique anonymous user ID, and if you sign in with Apple or Google, your name and email address.
• Profile data: nickname, preferred conversation topics, and communication style you choose during onboarding.
• Chat content: the messages you send to Elisa and the AI-generated replies, stored so your conversation history is available across sessions.
• Memory data: facts you share in conversation (e.g. your name, interests, job) that the App extracts to personalize future replies.
• Purchase data: subscription and credit-pack purchase status, processed via RevenueCat and the App Store — we do not receive your payment card details.
• Usage & device data: app usage events, crash logs, and device identifiers used for analytics (via PostHog) and push notification delivery.

2. How We Use Your Information — Third-Party AI Disclosure

When you send a message to Elisa, that message, your recent conversation history, and relevant profile/memory details are transmitted to OpenAI, L.L.C., a third-party artificial intelligence service provider, in order to generate Elisa's reply. This is the core functionality of the App and happens every time you chat. We ask for your explicit consent to this data sharing during onboarding before you can start chatting, and you can review that disclosure at any time from Settings.

OpenAI processes this data solely to return a chat completion to our servers. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, data submitted through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models. OpenAI retains API data for a limited period for abuse-monitoring purposes as described in OpenAI's own privacy policy (openai.com/policies/privacy-policy).

We also use your information to:

• Operate, maintain, and personalize the App
• Process subscriptions and credit purchases (via RevenueCat)
• Send push notifications you have opted into
• Analyze aggregated usage to improve the App (via PostHog)
• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security issues

3. Who We Share Data With

• OpenAI — chat messages and conversational context, to generate AI responses (see Section 2).
• Supabase — our backend database/auth provider, which stores your account, profile, and chat data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
• RevenueCat — subscription/purchase status to manage entitlements.
• PostHog — anonymized/aggregated product analytics events.
• Apple / Google — for Sign In and push notification delivery.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Your Choices & Rights

• You may decline AI data sharing at onboarding, in which case you cannot use the chat feature.
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your messages, memory data, and profile from our systems.
• You can disable push notifications from Settings or your device settings.
• Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR/CCPA to access, correct, or export your data — contact us at the email below.

5. Data Retention

We retain your conversation history and profile data for as long as your account is active so Elisa can remember context. If you delete your account, this data is permanently deleted from our production database.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 17 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
